Step 1. Glove up & get help

Unless your pet likes to be washed, an extra person will be helpful. Also, wear rubber gloves if possible.

Step 2. Gather Ingredients

Dawn liquid dish detergent hydrogen peroxide baking soda animal shampoo a bucket & gloves

Step 3. Start the bath...

Wet your pet with warm water, avoiding water in ears or eyes.

Step 4. Wash #1

Lather your pet ONLY with Dawn, which is tough on grease (and oily skunk musk)! Rinse.

Step 5a. Prepare Wash #2

Combine the following ingredients in your bucket: 1 quart peroxide ¼ cup baking soda 1 tsp Dawn liquid detergent

Step 5b. Wash #2

Lather and let mixture stay on pet for 5-15 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water.

Step 6. Wash #3

Use a pet-safe shampoo for a final wash-rinse cycle.

Step 7. Dry your pet

Dry your pet so it doesn’t get too cold or stressed. If your pet will tolerate a hair dryer, use that.

Step 8. Give some love
